The conditions did not improve and we were never compensated. General I am fortunate enough to travel very frequently for both work and pleasure. My husbands back was so bad that in addition to medication he was unable to get up for breakfast on most mornings or leave the room much to walk around. We hated being in the room so much he would force himself out of the room just to walk around in pain to take in the gorgeous sea view of the city.
When I had to complain for the third time on the third day, not only was the management unsympathetic but basically offered to do nothing.
No upgrade, no room change, no additional services such as having breakfast served in the room considering my husband was in distress throughout the trip this is the least they could have offered. Begrudgingly 2 'half hour' massages were offered. Even these had to be chased up and in the end we decided the likelihood of the massage being any good was probably very slim keeping in line with the hotel's performance so far so we decided not to risk my husbands back any further and refused the complimentary massages.
The hotel treated us poorly. They refused to see they had ruined our holiday and wasted all the money we had already spent, plus all the extra money we were now spending on arranging private excursions to take us out of the god awful hotel. I would honestly say don't risk your holiday by booking here. Tangiers is fantastic and you will find other hotels. Even if the hotel is eventually refurbished the service will remain the same.
The mangers will have the same small minded mentality they currently have and the front desk will still be rude - new furniture won't change their lack of manners and service.

Having been recommended this hotel as a "great relaxing getaway" I'm hugely disappointed. A cold welcome we were shown to our rooms with no information about where to have breakfast or go for meals.
Didn't even break a smile Breakfast: With only 3 guests there, I had to actually call the chef over to prepare an omelette even though they could see we were standing there waiting.
Staff decided to finish their conversation before attending to us. Same thing to get some coffee. However the food was tasty. Waited 1 hour and 20 mins for some ice and glasses to be sent to the room. Have called 3 times and each time have been spoken to like they are doing me a favor. Furniture is made of wicker with some very old dirty rugs lying about. Bathroom is poorly illuminated by a light by the mirror.
I can hear the person's phone in the next room, walls are that thin. Room service just arrived It goes from bad to worse. I'm dreading the next 5 nights, I've only been here 8 hours. Would not recommend this place to anyone. You may say "you're brave writing this with 5 nights to go" truth is service couldn't be any worse.

We enjoyed our stay at Movenpick, we visited during Ramadan last year. The AC in the room did not work well however the staff immediately tried to remedy the situation.
The was a plethora of options for breakfast. The hotel is pretty far from the Kasbah, but a quick taxi ride to the ferry. The view from the room is exquisite. A very good hotel next to the casino. Very clean and safe with very good food service with a clasic Arabic restaurant and a huge picine. Big and clean rooms and helpful stuff. Litle far away from the center of the city but the taxi are really very chip, note not to use the yellow taxi only the blue. I had to stay in this hotel for business and I really didn't appreciate the stay, first the prices are too high and you get less than what you pay for, the room service is good but some rooms are not in good state and not clean, The kitchen is god overall, I don't recommend this hotel to tourists who are visiting Tangier for the first time.

Room clean with a good view on Corniche. Only one half toilet paper! This is one of the long standing hotels in Tanger. Service is terrible; motor is say sorry and do nothing. Whole day yesterday was passed by engineering to fix the AC and we kept waiting for another room.
