So call this Hugo's an undercover Gibsons, but because the two concepts are siblings, the menu tweakings aren't going to change the dining experience a bit. Had friends visiting from GA. Free self-parking, valet available; wheelchair accessible; under 21 not admitted. We will definitely be requesting him in the future. I have eaten here dozens of times.
Not really a gambler. I find walking around and seeing others having fun and investing their time and money is an experience for me. Went to River's Casino today with my mom. There was an incident about my ex using my game card which he took without my permission.
I went today to update my info and get another card since it's just a rewards card and the last time I was there was early last year when I actually played mind you and when I come in Security says I am banned because he was using my card and I guess was No one has an answer. Had a great time last night at the above restaurant!
Always a fun time with awesome company. Laurie Brick, Steve Norton, and Austin. Thanks for this wonderful diner. Diners can tuck into the restaurant's famed frog legs while the incessant beep-boop-beeps of electronic slot machines, steps away from the restaurant's doorless entrance, chime along.
I figured it was just a matter of time before the Gibsons Restaurant Group was lured into a casino; principals Steve Lombardo and Hugo Ralli have been wooed by Las Vegas, Miami, Atlantic City and points in between, but have always resisted.
But the Rivers Casino, which opened July 18, offered Lombardo and Ralli something the other locales could not: We do things our way. Indeed, were it not for the gambling frenzy nearby, a frequent Hugo's customer could be plopped in the middle of the casino-location dining room and notice nothing amiss.
Dark wood walls with oak and tile floors? Massive bar with piano lounge? Check, check and check. One conspicuous difference is on the menu, where the number of steaks and chops is far greater than at other Frog Bar locations.
The entire Gibsons steak lineup is on offer, including the W. And servers begin the meal not with a recitation of the day's fresh catch, but with a visual display of the featured beef — the massive Australian lobster tail being the only seafood tout. Why not just call it Gibsons? I think that should be considered!! Steak was cooked medium as ordered but was very dry and salty.
Service and food were wonderful. It was noisy and was hard to talk to others in group across table. Our go to place when we are in the area. Food and service were outstanding! Mark was our waiter and he is always friendly, attentive and exceptional service. The food is always great. The drinks were all delicious and the service was wonderful as well. Had friends visiting from GA. Had fun in the Casino followed by an excellent meal. Had an excellent steak here, the shrimp cocktail is also fantastic.
The desserts are humongous and can be easily shared by 4 people. Great place to go in between hitting the gambling tables! Cocktails were a great start. The tuna app was just meh but the crab cake and sea bass entrees were tasty. My husband said his ribeye had a bit more outside char than he liked, but it was cooked medium rare on the inside as he requested. It was still huge for 4pp to share.
Somehow we were able to polish it off, though! We started with the amazing crab cake app. Tons of large lump crab with very little filler. The spicy pink mayo was a wonderful spicy compliment. All were prepared perfectly and tasted absolutely delicious! Steaks were phenomenal as well as the double baked potatoes. The wait staff was top notch and very friendly and helpful. We will be returning in the near future. We started the evening with the casino not letting one of our Canadian personnel into the area because he did not bring his psssport.
Who brings a passport to a casino? Luckily a nexus card was pulled! But Marc went out and made sure our party was together. The food was great and the water was also perfect. We will be back! Great dining experience and excellent food! Fantastic apps and surf and turf. Waiter was on top of drinks.
Really an awesome experience. The best steak I've ever had Tomahawk bone-in ribeye was the special. The food was good but VERY salty. I would not recommend this restaurant because there are so many healthier and better choices here in Chicago. Sign up Sign in. Overview Photos Menu Reviews Twitter. Good for a Date.
